What happens during a Reiki session?

One to One Session

-Each session begins with filling out the client intake form and some information on what to expect during the session and if there is anything specific you would like to be included.

-Each session is generally one hour although this can vary depending on your needs.

-Reiki is usually performed fully reclined comfortably on a massage table.

-You will be fully clothed and it is advisable to wear loose fitting comfortable clothing. 

               

-Reiki may be done with a light gentle touch or I may place my hands a few inches/centimeters above your body with no actual touch. It will be discussed beforehand if you would prefer hands on or hands off or a combination of both. There are standard hand placements which I use intuitively throughout the session. 

-Most clients feel a sense of relaxation and peace during the session. Your mind may feel calm and your physical body should feel relaxed. Reiki is so relaxing that sometimes clients may fall asleep during the session. Don’t worry though, you will still receive all of the benefits of the session, sleeping or awake.

-Usually a session is done without talking and I will have some soft ambient music playing in the background to aid in your relaxation. If you want to communicate something to me during the session, such as if you are cold or too warm, if you would like me to adjust the music, if you are feeling a sensation you would like to discuss, if something feels uncomfortable for you, if you have a question or issue, then I welcome you to speak up at any time during the session. I want the best for you and want to make your session the best experience possible.

-As I use the hand placements, you may feel a very slight tingling, heat, or energy, or nothing at all. The sensations or lack of are not a barometer of the Reiki, They are just how your particular body senses energy. You may feel a peace and calm in your mind or physically in general. It is different for all clients but deep relaxation is almost always felt.

-I will ask you after the session if there is anything you would like to share and you have the option to do so.

-You will see for yourself how Reiki makes you feel, if it is relaxing, if you feel more clarity after the session. Many people, after trying one session, will have follow up sessions. It is totally up to you.

-The body’s innate intelligence regulates the amount of Reiki that one receives and where it goes so one cannot give or receive too much Reiki. Like breathing, you will comfortably take in as much Reiki as you need to support you.

-When we give a Reiki treatment, the Reiki continues to work toward your healing long after the session has ended. It is intelligent energy that works with the natural energy of the person receiving the treatment. Reiki is intelligent and knows where it needs to go and for how long it is required to work in cooperation with the higher self of the person being treated in order to achieve the greatest and highest good.

- After the relaxation of your session you will be in your full awake state, but possibly feel more grounded and centered. A five minute brisk walk to your car or other transportation will add to your groundedness. Be sure that you are fully awake and alert before driving in general.

- After your session it is advised to drink plenty of water to hydrate your body as your body’s energy system may be moving at a more optimum rate, so it is recommended to care for yourself with water and healthy food during the day. It is beneficial to spend some quiet time that day or evening after your session to journal or to contemplate as you may have some insights and further mental clarity as your body continues to process the Reiki session.

3. You can book a stand alone session for Reiki self healing and meditation

Semi-Private or Group Reiki Healing Session

In a Reiki group healing session, we begin with a meditation followed by a self healing technique using various hand placements. Once you learn this simple technique you will be able to practice Reiki on yourself at home and experience all the benefits as you need them.

-Each Semi- Private or Group Healing Session is generally one hour although this can vary depending on the needs of the group.

-The meditation and self healing is usually performed sitting down although you can lie down on a yoga mat if you prefer.

-It is advisable to wear loose fitting comfortable clothing. 

               

-The self healing technique may be experienced by placing your hands on various parts of your body with a light gentle touch or you may place your hands a few inches/centimeters above your body with no actual touch or you can use a combination of both. 

-Most people feel a sense of relaxation and peace during the session. The mind may feel calm and your physical body should feel relaxed. 

-As you use the various hand placements, you may feel a very slight tingling, heat, or energy, or nothing at all. -We will close the session with a grounding meditation.
